NOQHA Little Buckeye Show Bill / List of Classes and Info
July 12-14: Sunbury, Ohio
YEDA will be partnering with the Ohio Amateur Quarter Horse Association (OAQHA) to host The Little Buckeye and YEDA Classic.
Not only do you get to show at an AQHA show but there are $100 guaranteed paybacks for the YEDA classes. They will pay out 1st through 4th place. Sounds like a win-win to me!
The Little Buckeye is one of the nation’s largest and most prestigious Quarter Horse shows and has had a tradition of innovation and giving back. The concept of this year’s show is to connect middle and high school students who enjoy riding Quarter Horses in YEDA competition with other Quarter Horse exhibitors, trainers and AQHA Professional Horsemen and Horsewomen. In addition to payback classes and scholarship awards, 50% of the profits from the show will be given to YEDA programs. There will also be great awards including medallions, gift cards and other merchandise.” The show offers both AQHA and YEDA classes including several introductory AQHA Level 1 (Novice) and Youth Walk-Trot classes. Members of the Ohio Quarter Horse Youth Association (OQHYA) and the American Quarter Horse Youth Association (AQHYA) will be represented at the show to meet YEDA riders and answer any questions about what OQHYA and AQHYA can offer in terms of showing, leadership, scholarships, horse judging competition, the All-American Quarter Horse Congress team tournament and the Congress Queen contest. You are welcome to ride in and/or attend a clinic on Thursday, July 11 with multiple World Champion trainer and judge Brent Tincher. Also, our main event will be on Friday, July 12 where YEDA and OQHYA riders will compete head-to-head in a special Diamond Elite event. Then on Saturday, July 13 please plan on attending the exhibitor’s party and dog races. The Diamond Elite class will be a head to head class. There will be an open and novice division. The first round will be on a horse of the rider’s choice (their own or borrowed). The remaining rounds will be by draw on YEDA horses. There will be paybacks on these classes as well! This class will offer Level 1 and open scholarship awards!
